Well – what can I say! . . . It’s superlatively beautiful!
You have obviously missed your vocation - or at least are now finding a late vocation. Dentists are easy to find; genius guitar creators (not ‘builders’) are a rare species and you are definitely one of them.
I’m in love! I can’t stop playing it. It goes so well with my Fender Stage 100 amplifier. A touch of echo and a little bit of reverb; roll the treble down just a notch and the P90 sounds rich and sweet like a red velvet cake with black cherries on top – and such a powerful pickup. Click the switch to the bridge pickup and you’re immediately brighter, lighter – in real Telecaster territory. Click to the two pickup position and you get a lovely synthesis of the qualities of both.
It looks and feels beautiful. The wood that we chose together (via email) is perfect – such beautiful grain patterns and it gives such long sustain . . . The volume and treble knobs are pieces of art in themselves.
The neck profile is slightly different to my other guitars – narrower and shallower – lovely for good fast playing. The string gauges are just right – lending themselves to a nice bit of bending. The frets are perfect.
Overdriven – it sounds ‘fierce good’ as my Irish friend would say. Some say that the P90 is not best suited to heavy metal – I disagree. On this guitar it has power to blow the Smoke on the Water!!!
